A number of insect pests have been reported to damage the clusterbean crop, among which aphids and leafhopper are most serious. Of late, the pod borer has also been observed to be a regular pest which feeds on the developing grains inside the pods, thus reducing grain yield significantly. These pests can be effectively controlled by the use of various safe insecticides I bio-pesticides besides use of some cultural practices and pest tolerant varieties.
