Misconceptions in the measurements of zeta potentials in ethylene glycol-based heat transfer fluids

扫码查看
Solid particles are often added to heat transfer fluids to improve their thermal conductance. Such dispersions are characterized by measurement of the zeta potentials in numerous scientific papers. This short review discusses common misconceptions in these publications. The examples presented here refer to the fluids based on ethylene glycol and its mixtures with water, but the same misconceptions may appear in studies involving other nonaqueous solvents and their mixtures with water.
