Abstract
This is the fourth part in a series of papers on the recently described family Micronoctuidae Fibiger, 2005. Part 4 includes the description of Tantaxinae, new subfamily, and Micronoctuinae, and 15 genera (13 new): Acusa, Tentasetae, Pseudob-scura, Parens, Alienia, Tentaspina, Tentax, Flax, Medius, Sternitta, Dextella, Paradoxica, and Dorsum (all new). Two genera are redescribed: Micronola Amsel, 1935 and Micronoctua Fibiger, 1997. A total of 93 species are treated (81 new, one new subspecies; 12 species are redescribed). Six new combinations are given. Additions are given to the previously published parts of the revision: Pollexinae Fibiger, 2007 (one new species), Belluliinae Fibiger, 2008a (one species from Fibiger et al. 2011), Parachrostiinae Fibiger, 2011 (one species from Fibiger et al. 2011), Tactusinae Fibiger, 2010 (three species and one subspecies from Fibiger et al. 2011, and 11 new species in three new genera). Taxa inhabit the Arabian Peninsula, and Asian, Oriental, and Oceania regions in tropical, subtropical, and temperate zones both north and south of the equator. Three preoccupied generic names, Dignus Fibiger, Fustis Fibiger, and Obscura Fibiger, proposed as new in Fibiger 2010, are replaced by Dignius Fibiger, 2011, Fustius Fibiger, 2011, and Obscurior Fibiger, 2011, resulting in 15 new combinations.
