The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) strives to maintain an impressive level of recycling throughout the industry, with the management of waste and maintaining sustainability high on the agenda. To this end, the NFDC has devised an award-winning system to advance these recycling processes. Every year, the Federation sends out annual declarations which members must fill in and return. Along with these forms is a waste return spreadsheet complied to meet the demands of Defra. This spreadsheet includes the various materials found on-site, and contractors are obliged to record how many tonnes of demolition material is produced and how much of this is recycled or landfilled.
