Background: 10-Hydroxy camptothecin (HCPT), a naturally occurring alkaloid, is a clinical drug for cancer chemotherapy. Baicalein (BA) is a flavonoid extracted from the root of Scutellaria baicalensis. The synergistic anti-cancer effect of BA and HCPT has not been reported.
