Born and Karman had pointed out a long time ago that a composite anisotropic solid must be characterized by multiple Debye temperatures (DTs). Since all non-elemental superconductors (SCs) are similar materials, we deal here with the problem of resolving the DT of a composite SC- usually given as single value - into the DTs of its constituents. These DTs are a primary requirement for the application of the generalized BCS equations which have been shown to shed light on several properties of not only the high-Tc SCs, but also a variety of others such as SrTiO3 and the so-called exotic Fe-based heavy-fermion SCs which have been a serious concern for theoreticians for a long time. The SCs dealt with here are MgB2, YBCO, Tl-2212 and Bi-2212.
