The northern limb of the Bushveld Complex is one of the Earth's most important resources of platinum-group elements (PGE), hosting the world-class Platreef deposit within Critical Zone stratigraphy, as well as several other occurrences of PGE-Ni-Cu-Co mineralisation within its Lower and Main Zone stratigraphy. As exploration and research expands, mineralisation and stratigraphy throughout the northern limb are being reassessed.
