The fatty acid,tocolpherol,and sterol compositions;proximate analysis;amino acid,total phenolic,and fiavonoid contents;and antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of Turkish endemic Trigonella rhytidocarpa Boiss.& Balansa seeds were evaluated for the first time.Seeds were rich in a-linolenic acid(57.56%),β-sitosterol(36.53%),a-tocopherol(3498,53 mg/kg),glutamic acid(5116 mg/100 g),and dietary fiber(39.36 g/100 g).Total phenolic and fiavonoid contents were 35.47 mg GAE/g seed and 2.57 mg QE/g seed,respectively.DPPH,ABTS,and CUPRAC assay results were 85.88%,420 μmol/g seed,and 401.6 μmol AAE/g seed,respectively.The antimicrobial effects of the seeds were also determined.
