Armatans A(1)and В(2),new isoflavans,have been isolated from the EtOAc-soluble fraction of the MeOH extract of Colutea armata Hemsl.& Lace,along with sativan(3),6-hydroxyisosativan(4),feruiic acid(5),and caffeic acid(6),isolated for the first time from this species.Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic techniques including MS and 2D NMR spectroscopy.The new compounds 1 and 2 showed significant antimicrobial activity.
