Optical and magnetic response of ultrathin film topological insulators in tilted magnetic field

扫码查看
Faraday's rotation and magnetic susceptibility of an ultrathin film of topological insulator, placed in tilted magnetic field, are studied. A Hall effect analogue is studied in terms of Faraday's rotation. It is an isotropic response and tunable with magnetic field. Susceptibility has three contributions; spin, orbital and spin-orbital. All three contributions are calculated for magnetic field tilted at an angle.. with respect to the perpendicular axis on the plane. Spin susceptibility for low temperature varies directly with Fermi energy, orbital part show diamagnetic divergence and spin orbital contribution arises as a step function at Fermi energy.
