Australia's emerging potash industry is at risk of missing a boom in the price of the fertiliser as construction and opera tional problems delay a second project. Kalium Lakes was the winner last year of a race against five other poten tial potash producers to manufacture a material suitable for sale, but the cel ebrations in October have faded with news of production delays and a pro posal to raise more capital. A revised timetable reported to the Australian stock exchange on March 15 is for sales of sulphate of potash (SOP) to be pushed back to July while discus sions start with financiers for a capital injection to compensate for missed sales.
