The dislocation structures of B2 phase in Ti-42Al-6V-1Cr alloy deformed at room temperature (RT), 700 degrees C and 800 degrees C were investigated in detail. At RT and 700 degrees C, the (110) type dislocations were active in B2 grains. The {111}< 110 > slip systems satisfy the von Mises criterion and this is a contributor to the ductility. At 800 degrees C, three different types of dislocations were observed, containing < 111>, <110 > and < 100 >-type dislocations. Based on microstructural evidence, recovery process occurs by a combination of rearrangement of dislocations and subgrain structures. The more slip modes are activated and this would lead to softening. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
