Welcome to the third issue of Volume 131 of Applied Earth Science. The main body of this issue consists of abstracts from the early-career focused International Platinum Symposium, held virtually in May 2022 and organised by William Smith, Chris Jenkins, Claudia Augustin, Erin Thompson, Kate Canham, Priyan-jan Datta, Abhishek Pandey, and Ivan Chayka. The quality of the abstracts presented at the conference is a testament to the excellent research being undertaken by student and early career geoscientists in this field, and I'd encourage all of you to have a look at the content and see what the cutting edge of platinum group element research looks like.
