The Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications (LHNCBC) has developed a prototype, microprocessor-based, stand-alone information delivery system in order to evaluate the feasibility of using a microcomputer system for retrieval from full-text encyclopedic databases. This experimental system has been programmed in PASCAL and is restricted to database delivery. The Maintenance Manual, one of five system manuals, provides the information that would allow an experienced PASCAL programmer to modify the delivery system source code. Descriptions are provided of the expected data base format and the file downloading process.
