查看更多>>摘要:Prorops Waterston 1923 can be easily distinguished from the other genera of Sclerodermini (Bethylidae: Epyrinae) mainly by having frontal process of head well-developed; antenna twelve segmented; median, basal, and anal veins absent (Evans 1978; Terayama 2006). The genus is a small group with four species known around the world: P. nasuta Waterston, 1923 (cosmopolitan), P. petila Evans, 1977 (Nearctic, Neotropical), P. obsoleta Evans, 1977 (Neotropical), P. rakan Terayama, 2006 (Palaearctic). As an ectoparasitoid on coleopteran insects, P. nasuta Waterston have been studied as the natural enemy on the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) (Hargreaves 1926; Infante et al. 2005; Chiu-Alvarado et al. 2009; Vega et al. 2009). Herein, we describe a new species of Prorops Waterston which is collected by the Malaise trap in the rain forest of Central Cardamom, Cambodia.

Adult specimens and male genitalia are illustrated and compared with those of M. aegides (C. Felder & R. Felder) and M. dignota (Draudt), the putatively most closely related species. A synopsis of the Micandra species in Colombia is presented along with distribution maps and a key to the species based on wing pattern.
