On The Darboux Frame Motion of a Developable Surface

查看更多>>摘要:Developable ruled surfaces and the rotation-minimizing frames (RMF) have a crucial importance in computer-aided geometric design (CAGD) because of being unfoldable (developable) into a plane without distortion. Also, the RMF of curves are generally used in computer graphics. In this paper, we discuss the relationship between spherical motion and a developable ruled surface that has a line of curvature as a base curve. On the other hand, we use spherical linear interpolation (SLERP) to analyze the relationship between the trajectory generated on the unit sphere due to this spherical motion and the inflection curve. Moreover, we examine some invariant values of this developable ruled surface. We also present the S.Frenet frame of this trajectory based on general quaternion frame equations.

A Nonparametric Estimator for Interval System Availability

    Kai Huang
    21页
查看更多>>摘要:In this paper, we study the interval availability of a repairable system through a system of integral equations. A new nonparametric estimator of interval system availability is proposed. This estimator is asymptotically consistent. Multiple numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the efficient numerical performance of the new estimator.

On estimation of the probability mass function and the cumulative distribution function of a natural discrete one parameter polynomial exponential distribution

查看更多>>摘要:In this paper, a new natural discrete analog of the one parameter polynomial exponential (OPPE) distribution as a mixture of a number of negative binomial distributions has been proposed and is called as a natural discrete one parameter polynomial exponential (NDOPPE) distribution. This distribution is a generalized version of natural discrete Lindley (NDL) distribution, proposed and studied in literature. Maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) and uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator (UMVUE) of the probability mass function (PMF) and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the NDOPPE distribution have been derived. The estimators have been compared with respect to their mean squared errors (MSEs). Simulation study has been conducted to verify the consistency of the estimators. Three real data illustrations have been reported.

The asimmetric information in the financial market

    20页
查看更多>>摘要:In the present work the authors study the asymmetric information in the financial markets. They examine a financial market model in which four agents trade. The model include n Brownian Motions. The first agent knows all information, the second agent knows minimun information, the third and the fourth agents know only partial information. The model analizes the different informations of the four agents and compares their logarithmic utility functions. The filtration of the fisrt agent is larger. It is initially specified. The filtration of the third and the fourth agents is smaller and the dynamics is non-Markovian. The model studies the logarithmic utility functions of the four agents. It results that, when T → +∞, the utility functions of the agents diverge.

The exponential variation property for the Weibull distribution

查看更多>>摘要:In this paper, our aim is to characterize the Weibull distribution widely used to model lifetimes in reliability analysis. Namely, for the exponential variation index defined as the squared of the coefficient of variation, we show that the two-parameter Weibull distribution is over-, equi- and under-varied if and only if its shape parameter is less, equal and greater than one, respectively. In reliability, similar behaviours on the shape parameter are known for the decay, constant and growth of the Weibull failure rate curve. To this end, we have stated the main result which is analytically proved by means of sharp inequalities involving the polygamma functions.
