Localization Accuracy Improved Methods for Range-Free Localization Schemes in Wireless Sensor Network

    Jiawen HuXiaofen YuBiao WangZhiqiang Li...
    P.462-466页
查看更多>>摘要:Location information is the most important for wireless sensor network (WSN). Due to the limitation of energy, cost and influence of environment, range-free localization schemes are more suitable for WSN despite of their low localization accuracy. Two methods, which are improved grids SCAN and multiple locating and averaging scheme, are presented to improve localization accuracy of range-free localization schemes and performed through performance evaluation based on ROCRSSI (Ring Overlapping based on Comparison of Received Signal Strength Indicator). By simulation it is concluded that ROCRSSI applying both methods can get better localization performances.

    P.467-471页
查看更多>>摘要:In this paper, a novel method to measure the footprint pattern of a vehicle tire and its pressure distribution will be put forward. The measurement principle will be presented. The automatic digital image processing methods of the footprint pattern and pressure distribution images, which are used to characterize the footprint pattern, are described. Especially, a novel envelope curve calculation algorithm for finding a pattern boundary is introduced. The experimental results have shown that the methods mentioned in the paper are of robustness and high accuracy.

查看更多>>摘要:The opaque coolant used in the removal machining processes has an inaccessibility problem for the form error in-process optical measurement. The water beam assisted approach should be one of the possible solutions for the problem. In this project, we propose to study the measurement process using the computational approach for better understanding of the process and for validating the models and settings. The experimental results and the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) results are found close to each other. This gives us confidence in using the proposed CFD models and settings. The proposed new transparent window definition is suitable. The models and settings established include geometric model, mesh adaption model, domain settings, coolant concentration representation, expressions, boundary conditions, and CFX solver settings. The developed CFD models and settings will be useful in our further studies of the form error measurement method.

Dimension Accuracy Analysis of a Micro-Punching Mold for IC Packing Bag

查看更多>>摘要:This article is pointed to the dimension accuracy analysis of the micro-punching mold for plastic carrier tape. The parts' dimensions of the punch were first determined by the specification of the plastic carrier tape. The parts would be manufactured and assembled, and the performance of the punch was tested subsequently. Variation of dimensional accuracy of the plastic carrier tape was inspected to evaluate the performance of the punch. Mean and variance test was conducted under the significance level of a = 0.05. Through these inspections, all the plastic carrier tape met the specifications of dimensional accuracy, which indicated that the precision and performance of the developed micro-punching mold also met the requirement.

Excited Energy Attenuation Study Through Vibration Measurement and Spectrum Analysis

查看更多>>摘要:This paper presents the use of vibration measurement in conjunction with spectrum signal analysis to investigate the vibration phenomena and the dynamic response of the absorber system frame and rigid axle of a vehicle body under real road-driving conditions. Ford 1.6L sedan was selected as the vehicle body to carry out the experiments with different driving speeds. B&K PULSE dynamic signal analyzer was used to detect the vibration signal induced from the absorber system frame and rigid axle of the vehicle body in motion. The acquired on-line signals are then processed through the Fast Fourier Transform using the power spectrum density, the cepstrum method, and the overall analysis. The vibration energy attenuated from the absorber system is analyzed by comparing with that on the rigid axle excited from the road conditions corresponding to different driving speeds. Furthermore, the effects of various road conditions and driving speeds on oscillation of the vehicle body are studied. The corresponding results may be extensively treated as a guiding reference of the absorber system design and manufacturing for those vehicle manufacturing companies.

Data Reduction Based on Bi-directional Point Cloud Slicing for Reverse Engineering

    Lei ChenZhuangde JiangBing LiJianjun Ding...
    P.492-496页
查看更多>>摘要:In reverse engineering, complex free-form shaped parts are usually digitized quickly and accurately using the newly arisen non-contact measuring methods. However, they produce extremely dense point data at great rate. Not all the point data are necessary for generating a surface CAD model. Moreover, owing to inefficiencies in storing and manipulating them it takes a long time to generate a surface CAD model from the measured data. Therefore, an important task is to reduce the large amount of data. After analyzing the existing methods developed by other researchers, a new data reduction method, which based on bi-directional point cloud slicing, is presented in this paper. Using the proposed method, point cloud can be reduced while considering geometric features in both two parametric directions. Finally, a face model is used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method and experimental results are given.

Research on Tool Condition Monitoring System in Auto-Balancing Machines

    P.497-501页
查看更多>>摘要:A drill set working condition monitoring system is introduced and investigated to improve the performance of auto-balancing machine. The experiment setup to acquire data of armature currents of spindle and servo motors is constructed. The features of the armature currents of both spindle motor and servo motor in time domain, frequency domain and time-frequency domain are extracted respectively, and they are fused separately by two distinct RBF ANNs to get the primary fusing results. The primary results are fused by the third RBF ANN to get a comprehensive result. Experiment results demonstrate that the servo motor current has a closer relation with drill set working condition than that of spindle motor, and two successive fusing operations can achieve more reliable recognition with a correctness up to 86.67%.

On-line Test System for Vibration Measurement and Sorting of Ball Bearings

    P.502-506页
查看更多>>摘要:A system for on-line measurement and sorting of ball bearings is presented in this paper. The structures and functions of its automatic testing mechanics and control system are described in detail. The system sorts the tested bearings into four grades by measured values of vibration parameters such as root-mean-square value, peak value, crest factor and kurtosis. Its stability of indication values is between ± 1.0 dB. The mechanism generating abnormal sounds of bearings is also investigated emphatically and the characteristics of abnormal sound signals are described on the basis of vibration model of tested bearing.

In Search for New Paradigm for Humanitarian Measurements: Informational Path between Scylla of Subjectivism and Harybdis of Operationalism

查看更多>>摘要:The subjectivity both of researchers (which compile the questionnaires) and experts (which evaluate objects subdued to measurements) penetrates most humanitarian fields. However, trials to introduce objectivity by means of certain 'rulers,' usually result in the 'sin of operationalism' (P. Bridgman), i.e., strong influence of the 'rulers' used. To escape both menaces, it is necessary to change the status both of definition of the phenomenon studied and its empirical indicators: all of them should become the constituents of a certain general model. For most fields, prospective general models can be derived in the framework of the information approach (G. Golitsyn, S. Maslov). One of such approaches permitting to measure assimilation of any system was proved in sociological and psychological investigations.
