查看更多>>摘要:Data detailed on robotics have been presented. According to news reporting originating from Seoul, South Korea, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "In this study, we propose a novel method for enhancing the control performance of a degraded robot manipulator by leveraging digital twins and proximal policy optimization, a specific deep reinforcement learning algorithm." Financial supporters for this research include National Research Foundation of Korea (Nrf) Grants; Korean Government. The news editors obtained a quote from the research from Seoul National University: "Recently, various robotic technologies with high levels of controllability, safety, and reliability that incorporate the fourth industrial technology have been developed. Nevertheless, repairs or replacements owing to the performance degradation of sophisticated robot hardware or control systems are still time-, cost-, and manpower-consuming. To address these challenges, we propose a new strategy:1) approximate the unstable dynamic characteristics of six-degree-of-freedom low-performance robot manipulators to a digital twin with parameter tuning of a physics engine; 2) improve the accuracy and stability of reaching target points under diverse conditions through deep reinforcement learning using the domain randomization method; and 3) deploy a trained policy on an actual robot manipulator with degraded capabilities to validate the control performance improvement. Our method reduced the position error of a real robot manipulator by 63.0% and 39.0% compared to the built-in control method and the proportional-integral-derivative control method, respectively. Randomizing parameters in the physics engine of the digital twin during training allowed the method to simulate the imprecise motions of an actual degraded robot manipulator, facilitating the development of a more robust policy."

Patent Application Titled 'Optimized Creative and Engine for Generating the Same' Published Online (USPTO 20240046603)

查看更多>>摘要:According to news reporting originating from Washington, D.C., by NewsRx journalists, a patent application by the inventor Lyman, William (Nashville, TN, US), filed on December 1, 2021, was made available online on February 8, 2024. The assignee for this patent application is Kinesso LLC (New York, New York, United States). Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "A programmatic display digital message (an "Impression") consists of an image (the "Creative") being served to a digital user (a "User") in a Web browser or other digital application via the Internet. Before an Impression occurs, a demand-side platform or similar clearing agent ("Platform") determines which among many possible Creatives will be served to the User. A Platform serves the Creative to the User within 250 milliseconds, and ideally within 5-10 milliseconds. It does so in response to (i) a set of user attributes identified by various parts of the digital programmatic supply chain at the moment immediately preceding the Impression ("User Attributes"), and (ⅱ) a set of pre-existing bid settings submitted to the Platform by the individual participants sending digital messages. These bid settings dictate what each party sending a message is willing to pay for an Impression depending on the User Attributes identified, and the Platform essentially allocates the Impression to the highest bidder. This process constitutes in large part the digital messaging phenomenon called "Targeting," because it ostensibly allows those sending digital messages to show their Creatives to Users who have some known and desired set of User Attributes.

No assignee for this patent application has been made. Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "A beam delivery system is a device for transmitting a laser beam from its source to a laser head that projects the beam to a workpiece. Optical fibers are generally a preferred option for beam delivery because of their flexibility. This flexibility is especially beneficial for applications where the laser head needs to move. However, optical fibers cannot transmit a laser beam with a wavelength longer than 2600 nanometers due to high absorption rate of fibers. CO2 laser is an example of laser that cannot be delivered by optical fibers. Instead, CO2 laser is generally delivered by reflective mirrors that are often encapsulated in tubes.

(Emerald Hills, CA, US), filed on October 17, 2023, was made available online on February 8, 2024. No assignee for this patent application has been made. News editors obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "Minimally invasive surgical techniques are aimed at reducing the amount of extraneous tissue that is damaged during diagnostic or surgical procedures, thereby reducing patient recovery time, discomfort, and deleterious side effects. As a consequence, the average length of a hospital stay for standard surgery may be shortened significantly using minimally invasive surgical techniques. Also, patient recovery times, patient discomfort, surgical side effects, and time away from work may also be reduced with minimally invasive surgery. "A common form of minimally invasive surgery is endoscopy, and a common form of endoscopy is laparoscopy, which is minimally invasive inspection and surgery inside the abdominal cavity. In standard laparoscopic surgery, a patient's abdomen is insufflated with gas, and cannula sleeves are passed through small (approximately one-half inch or less) incisions to provide entry ports for laparoscopic instruments.

Researchers Submit Patent Application, 'Machine-Learning Model To Predict Likelihood Of Events Impacting A Product', for Approval (USPTO 20240046347)

    132-134页
查看更多>>摘要:From Washington, D.C., NewsRx journalists report that a patent application by the inventor Koupanou, Natalia (London, GB), filed on August 9, 2022, was made available online on February 8, 2024. No assignee for this patent application has been made. News editors obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: " "The subject matter described relates generally to machine-learning and, in particular, to a model for predicting the likelihood of future events that impact product. "When deciding what products to offer to a consumer, providers typically use a combination of rules a human judgment calls regarding whether a given product is suitable for a particular consumer. For example, in the financial sector, lenders evaluate the likelihood of whether the consumer will default on repayments in determining whether to offer the entity a loan and on what terms the loan is offered. However, in many instances the lender is operating on limited data. This is particularly true for many financial technology companies and other non-traditional banking services, many of which have been formed in the last five to ten years and thus have limited data on loan repayments and defaults for their customers. As a result of the lack of data, many existing processes for approving loans and other products have high error rates, which increases the cost of products for consumers, reduces profits for lenders, or both. Such processes may also have biases, which further reduce business efficiency."

Patent Issued for System for performing multiple possible complex tasks on work sites using unmanned aerial devices (USPTO 11891175)

查看更多>>摘要:According to news reporting originating from Alexandria, Virginia, by NewsRx journalists, a patent by the inventor Mura Yanez, Miguel Angel (Santiago, CL), filed on April 17, 2019, was published online on February 6, 2024. The assignee for this patent, patent number 11891175, is Mura Yanez Miguel Angel (Santiago, Chile). Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "Today there are a large number of tasks that involve a risk for workers or people at home, the trend is to reduce tasks at height. In the construction of buildings, it implies great costs for companies that hire personnel who perform tasks at height, they imply hiring special insurance. Besides, tasks at height imply diverting the logistics that occur below them, for example, painting braced structures on public roads means diverting pedestrians and diverting traffic. These traffic detours mean costs for free traffic on large avenues, the municipality and the city. When cleaning structures, bus stops imply discomfort for passers-by and dangers for those workers who can slip from stairs during such maintenance. In building construction, workers are put at risk, for example, by dusting exterior concrete walls so that paint can be added later. In the buildings already delivered there are various periodic maintenance tasks, for example, the cleaning of glass facades where the cleaning crew as the passerby is endangered.
