According t o news reporting out of Ahmad Dahlan University by NewsRx editors, research stat ed, “Twitter is a social media platform that is very important in the digital wo rld.” Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Ahmad Dahlan Universi ty: “Fast communication and interaction make Twitter a vital information center in sentiment analysis. The purpose of this research is to classify public opinio n about the presence of marketplaces in Indonesia, both positive and negative se ntiments, using a Non-linear SVM algorithm based on 1276 tweets. This research i nvolves the stages of data pre-processing, labeling, feature extraction using TF -IDF, and data division into three scenarios: 80% training data an d 20% test data, 50% training data and 50% test data scenario, and 20 % training data and 80% te st data scenario. The last process, GridSearchCV, combines cross-validation and non-linear SVM parameters for model evaluation using a confusion matrix. The bes t SVM model resulting from the scenario was 80% training and 20% test data, with hyperparameters Gamma = 100 and C = 0.01, achieving 89% accuracy. When tested on never-before-seen data, the accuracy increased to 90 % , with an f1-score of 91%, precision of 88%, and recal l of 95% on negative sentiments.”

According to news originating from the University of Texas Dallas by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Modeling and forecasti ng the dynamics of complex systems, such as moderate pressure capacitively coupl ed plasma (CCP) systems, remains a challenge due to the interactions of physical and chemical processes across multiple scales.” Funders for this research include Applied Materials. Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from University of Texas Dal las: “Historically, optimization for a given application would be accomplished v ia a design of experiment (DOE) study across the various external control parame ters. Machine learning (ML) techniques show the potential to “forecast” process conditions not tested in a traditional DOE study and thereby allow better optimi zation and control of a plasma tool. In this article, we have used standard DOE as well as ML predictions to analyze I-V data in a moderate-pressure CCP system. We have demonstrated that supervised regression ML techniques can be a useful t ool for extrapolating data even when a plasma system is undergoing a transition in the heating mode, in this case from the alpha to gamma mode.”

According to news reporting from Shanghai, People ’s Republic of China, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “This study presen ts the implementation of machine learning (ML) techniques for mechanical propert ies prediction and analysis of polyethylene fiber-reinforced ECC (PE-ECC).” Funders for this research include Fundamental Research Funds For The Central Uni versities; National Natural Science Foundation of China. Our news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Tongji Universit y: “A comprehensive database including different mechanical properties of PE-ECC was first constructed, with total 50 compressive strengths, 123 tensile strengt hs and 123 tensile strain capacities being assembled. Grey relational analysis w as used to investigate the sensitivity of the critical parameters of PE-ECC’s me chanical properties. The evaluation results showed that the supplementary cement itious materials-to-binder ratio, water-to-binder ratio, sand-to-binder ratio, a nd fiber reinforcing index have significant effects on the mechanical properties of PE-ECC. Three representative ML techniques were utilized and demonstrated go od predictive performance. A parametric study was further undertaken to quantify the effects of the selected parameters on the mechanical properties of PE-ECC b ased on the ML models.”

According to news reporting from Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “This paper investigates the mov ing horizon estimation (MHE) problem of mobile robots with measurement outliers. ” Funders for this research include The National Natural Science Foundation of Chi na; The Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China. Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Zhejiang University of Technology: “To deal with measurement outliers, the Euclidean distance of me asurement error is introduced to detect and remove abnormal data. Then, we use d imension expansion methods to preprocess the data of heterogeneous sensors, such as UWB and IMU. An MHE-based method is proposed that deals with the localizatio n of mobile robots with measurement outliers in the presence of bounded noise. A n MHE-based estimator is obtained by solving a regularized least-squares problem .”

According to news reporting out of Guangxi, People’s Republic of Chin a, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “In the training process of machine learn ing, the minimization of the empirical risk loss function is often used to measu re the difference between the model’s predicted value and the real value. Stocha stic gradient descent is very popular for this type of optimization problem, but converges slowly in theoretical analysis.” Financial support for this research came from Guangxi Science and Technology Bas e and Talent Project. Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Guangxi University, “To solve this problem, there are already many algorithms with variance reducti on techniques, such as SVRG, SAG, SAGA, etc. Some scholars apply the conjugate g radient method in traditional optimization to these algorithms, such as CGVR, SC GA, SCGN, etc., which can basically achieve linear convergence speed, but these conclusions often need to be established under some relatively strong assumption s. In traditional optimization, the conjugate gradient method often requires the use of line search techniques to achieve good experimental results. In a sense, line search embodies some properties of the conjugate methods. Taking inspirati on from this, we apply the modified three-term conjugate gradient method and lin e search technique to machine learning. In our theoretical analysis, we obtain t he same convergence rate as SCGA under weaker conditional assumptions.”
