According to news reporting originating in E lazig, Turkey, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Voice pathologies occur due to various factors, such as malfunction of the vocal cords. Computerized aco ustic examinationbased vocal pathology detection is crucial for early diagnosis , efficient follow-up, and improving problematic speech.” The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Firat University, “Di fferent acoustic measurements provide it. Executing this process requires expert monitoring and is not preferred by patients because it is time-consuming and co stly. This paper is aimed at detecting metaheuristic-based automatic voice patho logy. First, feature maps of 10 common diseases, including cordectomy, dysphonia , front lateral partial resection, contact pachyderma, laryngitis, lukoplakia, p ure breath, recurrent laryngeal paralysis, vocal fold polyp, and vox senilis, we re obtained from the Zero-Crossing Rate, Root-Mean-Square Energy, and Mel-freque ncy Cepstral Coefficients using a thousand voice signals from the Saarbruecken V oice Database dataset. Hybridizations of different features obtained from the vo ices of the same diseases using these three methods were used to increase the mo del’s performance. The Grey Wolf Optimizer (MELGWO) algorithm based on local sea rch, evolutionary operator, and concatenated feature maps derived from various a pproaches was employed to minimize the number of features, implement the models faster, and produce the best result. The fitness values of the metaheuristic alg orithms were then determined using supervised machine learning techniques such a s Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-nearest neighbors. The F1 score, sensitivit y, specificity, accuracy, and other assessment criteria were compared with the e xperimental data.”

Patent number 12079848 is assigned to Wondereur Inc. (Toronto, Canada). The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “Prices of specialty goods are difficult to eval uate. This is because an item’s price depends greatly on the cultural acclaim of the producer. Moreover, each item is unique and typically produced in a very sm all number of copies or in a single copy only, as is the case with artworks. The refore, a reference price for specialty goods is difficult to establish.

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “As the world becomes more connected, online business interact ions are increasingly taking place among users who speak different languages. Co mpanies that host content on the internet risk losing user engagement if the con tent is not in the user’s language. To account for this, some websites offer a t hird-party translation service by including a “translate” button with the hosted content. By clicking the button, a user may receive a machine translation of co ntent in a requested language. However, the efficiency with which these services provide the requested translations typically comes at the cost of quality. Furt her, such translation services typically charge companies on a per-click basis, thereby adding costs to companies that use them, especially companies with large user bases.”

No assignee for this patent application has been made. News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “When a witness of an incident provides a witness statement , they are often unable to provide certain details of the incident with confiden ce. In other words, witness statements are often uncompleted and contain uncerta inties. For example, a witness may indicate in their statement that they saw a s tation wagon or a hatchback car that may be blue but cannot recall the make of t he vehicle. Using conventional investigation tools, multiple queries would need to be made based on such a statement and a user would be required to sift throug h numerous images based on the time at which the incident was observed by the wi tness, the location, or some other criteria. Such a querying and review process may prove time-consuming and prone to errors. The process may become even more c umbersome when multiple witness statements are provided by different witnesses, especially if the statements contain variances or are incomplete.

No assignee for this patent application has been made. News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “Manipulators of industrial robots can often be programmed by means of lead-through programming. With lead-through programming, a human can physically lead the manipulator to specific target points and record joint angl es of the manipulator in each point using a programming device, such as a teach pendant unit, TPU. A movement path comprising a plurality of movement segments b etween the points can then be generated (e.g. by interpolation) to provide a rob ot program. Positioning of the manipulator by means of lead-through is often eas ier for the user in comparison with jogging the manipulator to different points by means of a joystick or similar.

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Construction is one the biggest industries on earth (13% of worldwide GDP), but has experienced negative productivity growth in the last decades. In the industrialized world, construction has become more expensive (ev en when correcting for inflation), slower and, many feel, uglier. Meanwhile, acu te labor shortages have been affecting the industry for over a decade now and de mographic and social trends have made this a permanent secular trend. As a resul t, lack of affordable housing is one of the top problems affecting industrialize d nations today.
