    TOFD detection of shallow subsurface defects in aluminum alloy thin plates by half-skip mode-converted wave

    查看更多>>摘要:Aluminum alloy is widely applied to the aerospace field.However,the inspection of thin plates using Time-of-Flight Diffraction(TOFD)technique is restricted by the near-surface dead zone because of the coupling between diffracted longitudinal wave and lateral wave.The half-skip mode-converted wave is introduced to decrease dead zone and detect defects in aluminum alloy thin plates by increasing ray path and propagation time.The quantitative correlation for the dif-fracted shear wave from longitudinal back-wall wave is deduced in combination with the acoustic path,realizing the accurate location of shallow subsurface defects.Simulated and experimental results indicate that the dead zone is decreased by 38%by the half-skip mode-converted wave,and the location errors are within 5%for the aluminum alloy plate with a thickness of 7.0 mm.Compared to other alternative TOFD techniques,half-skip mode-converted wave has better response amplitude and positioning accuracy,demonstrating strong applicability in TOFD inspec-tion of thin plates.

    Early chatter identification based on optimized VMD with multi-band information fusion and compression method in robotic milling process

    查看更多>>摘要:Undesirable self-excited chatter has always been a typical issue restricting the improve-ment of robotic milling quality and efficiency.Sensitive chatter identification based on processing signals can prompt operators to adjust the machining process and prevent chatter damage.Com-pared with the traditional machine tool,the uncertain multiple chatter frequency bands and the band-moving of the chatter frequency in robotic milling process make it more challenging to extract chatter information.This paper proposes a novel method of chatter identification using optimized variational mode decomposition(OVMD)with multi-band information fusion and compression technology(MT).During the robotic milling process,the number of decomposed modes k and the penalty coefficient a are optimized based on the dominant component of frequency scope par-tition and fitness of the mode center frequency.Moreover,the mayfly optimization algorithm(MA)is employed to obtain the global optimal parameter selection.In order to conquer information col-lection about the uncertain multiple chatter frequency bands and the band-moving of the chatter frequency in robotic milling process,MT is presented to reduce computation and extract signal characteristics.Finally,the cross entropy of the image(CEI)is proposed as the final chatter indi-cator to identify the chatter occurrence.The robotic milling experiments are carried out to verify the proposed method,and the results show that it can distinguish the robotic milling condition by extracting the uncertain multiple chatter frequency bands and overcome the band-moving of the chatter frequency in robotic milling process.

    Forming process chain for manufacturing complex conical-section profiled rings:On a co-design method

    查看更多>>摘要:The final quality of complex conical-section rings depends on co-design of multiple pro-cesses in forming process chain.In this study,for a complex aeroengine casing ring with a large slope and a flange on its end,a co-design method of the forming process chain is put forward towards the objective of precision forming,which not only proposes a standard process route com-posed of multiple processes of upsetting,punching,rectangular ring rolling,loose tooling forging and profiled ring rolling,but also presents co-design methods of dies and blanks for all the pro-cesses.For profiled ring rolling,a design method of preformed blank that makes the blank and the target conical-section ring have the same axial volume distribution is proposed.By the method,the axial metal redistribution during the process can be alleviated greatly thus improving the form-ing stability and precision of the ring.Based on the geometric features of designed preformed blank,design methods of blanks and dies for loose tolling forging,rectangular ring rolling,punching and upsetting are proposed sequentially.In view of the key roles of loose tooling forging(manufacturing the preformed blank)and profiled ring rolling on the final quality of the conical ring parts,inherited FE simulations for these two processes are performed to verify the proposed design methods and determine appropriate design parameter.It is demonstrated that the proposed design method has significant advantages in improving forming precision.Besides,a suggestive value 1.5 of the rolling ratio for profiled ring rolling(a key design parameter)is given based on comprehensive considera-tion of multiple indicators such as ring roundness,deformation uniformity and forming load.The corresponding industrial experiments performed illustrate that a high forming precision of the conical-section aeroengine casing ring is achieved.

    Effect of linear friction welding process on microstructure evolution,mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of GH4169 superalloy

    查看更多>>摘要:Linear Friction Welding(LFW)technology was used to realize the welding of GH4169 superalloy,and the effect of welding parameters on the microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of the joint was analyzed.The results show that there is a positive correlation between the weld hardness and the tensile strength.With the gradual increase of heat input and welding pressure,the joint quality is gradually improved,but the heat affected zone is not signifi-cantly increased.The smaller the grain size of the weld,the higher the strength and plasticity of the joint.With the increase of the joint shortening amount,the corrosion resistance of the weld first gradually increases.However,when the shortening reaches a certain level,the corrosion resistance of the joint becomes little changed.With the increase of solution temperature,the corrosion current density increases and the polarization impedance decreases.The higher the corrosion temperature,the worse the corrosion resistance of the joint.There is no significant correlation between the joint strength and the corrosion resistance.The corrosion resistance of the joint can be enhanced without changing the joint mechanical properties by reducing the welding frequency and amplitude or increasing the welding pressure.
