    Application of formant instantaneous characteristics to speech recognition and speaker identification

    查看更多>>摘要:This paper proposes a new phase feature derived from the formant instantaneous characteristics for speech recognition (SR) and speaker identification (SI) systems.Using Hilbert transform (HT), the formant characteristics can be represented by instantaneous frequency (IF) and instantaneous bandwidth, namely formant instantaneous characteristics (FIC).In order to explore the importance of FIC both in SR and SI, this paper proposes different features from FIC used for SR and SI systems.When combing these new features with conventional parameters, higher identification rate can be achieved than that of using Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) parameters only.The experiment results show that the new features are effective characteristic parameters and can be treated as the compensation of conventional parameters for SR and SI.

    查看更多>>摘要:Localization of the sensor nodes is a key supporting technology in wireless sensor networks (WSNs).In this paper,a real-time localization estimator of mobile node in WSNs based on extended Kalman filter (KF) is proposed.Mobile node movement model is analyzed and online sequential iterative method is used to compute location result.The detailed steps of mobile sensor node self-localization adopting extended Kalman filter (EKF) is designed.The simulation results show that the accuracy of the localization estimator scheme designed is better than those of maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and traditional KF algorithm.

    查看更多>>摘要:Spectrum sensing is the first step of cognitive radio (CR).In this area, previous researches mostly consider distributed local nodes which are under identical channel conditions, hence uniform and fixed detection threshold is set with energy detector.However, the distributions of nodes in real environments are not quite the same.In this paper, the optimal threshold to minimize the total detection error over additive white Gaussion noise (AWGN) channel is derived firstly.Then the dynamic threshold scheme is proposed to reduce the average total detection error.Simulations have shown that, with this scheme, sensing performance is improved.

    查看更多>>摘要:Stress-induced birefringence and modal birefringence of single-mode specialty optical fibers with three stress regions are numerically analyzed by the vector finite element method.Stress distribution and stress-induced birefringence distribution of three kinds of optical fibers with different cross structures are presented and compared, and the influence on the stressinduced birefringence by temperature change are analyzed as well.The results show that the fibers with three-stress regions have a lower linear birefringence, which is very important for the fabrication of the circular polarization-maintaining fiber with high performance drawn from the same fiber preform by using the spinning method.

    查看更多>>摘要:A ceramic dielectric resonator antenna excited by a corner-cut square patch for the circularly-polarized operation is introduced.The effect of patch size and cut size is investigated, showing that the resonant frequency of the antenna can be changed by simply changing the patch size.The reflection, axial ratio, and radiation characteristics of the antenna are found.Measurements were carried out to verify the design.The antenna is compact in structure, which is attractive in the application as the satellite communication terminals.

    查看更多>>摘要:In this paper, an energy efficient clustering algorithm based on neighbors (EECABN) for wireless sensor networks is proposed.In the algorithm, an optimized weight of nodes is introduced to determine the priority of clustering procedure.As improvement, the weight is a measurement of energy and degree as usual, and even associates with distance from neighbors, distance to the sink node, and other factors.To prevent the low energy nodes being exhausted with energy, the strong nodes should have more opportunities to act as cluster heads during the clustering procedure.The simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively prolong whole the network lifetime.Especially at the early stage that some nodes in the network begin to die, the process can be postponed by using the algorithm.

    查看更多>>摘要:A compact wideband microstrip array antenna with a squint beam is introduced without the matched load.Its measured beam is at 10° offset to the broadside with a measured gain of 12 dB at 10 GHz.The measured impedance bandwidth (voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR)≤2) is over 16%, which agrees well with the simulated one.It is a low-cost wideband design with compact simple structure, suited for military and commercial application.
