Objective:Aiming at the difficulty of simulation of double stators idling in sequence ,a CFD numerical simulation method for the bladeless treatment of the double stators was proposed in order to obtain the internal flow field of the double stators hydraulic torque converter.Methods:T he flow channel model of self-designed double stators hydraulic torque converter was extracted by Solidworks software ,to simulate the idling condition of the two stators ,a bladeless method was applied ,ANSYS Meshing software was utilized and three kinds of full channel grid models were obtained.The flow field characteristics under medium speed condition with a speed ration of 0.6 was simulated by CFD numerical calculation using ANSYS Fluent software.Test of the prototype was carried out on the test platform of the torque converter , and its original characteristic curve was obtained.Results:CFD numerical simulation can accurately predict the original characteristics of the double stators hydraulic torque converter ,simulation results were in good agreement with test results.The variation trend of velocity and pressure for pump and turbine from the inlet to the outlet is opposite ,while velocity and pressure of two stators changed relatively small.Conclusion:The flow field characteristics of double stators torque converter can be accurately predicted by CFD numerical calculation combined with the idling bladeless method ,which provides a theoretical reference for further optimization design.
