Objective:To explore optimal rearing protocols for Telenomus remus Nixon females to improve the efficiency of scaled-up expansion of Telenomus remus Nixon and to provide a scientific basis for the biological control and field application of Spodoptera frugiperda. Methods:The effects of different factor treatments(parasitoid mating, age, density, nutrition, host density and egg age)on the sex ratio of the offspring of Telenomus remus was determined by setting different factors. Results:Parasitic wasp mating directly affects their offspring sex ratio. The female parasitic wasp rate of offspring gradually decreases with the increase of parasitic wasp age,and the female parasitic wasp rate of offspring after parasitism by the 1-day-old Telenomus remus is 79.05%.The female parasitic wasp rate of offspring decreases with increasing parasitic wasp density, while the emergence rate increases with increasing parasitic wasp density;Feeding different concentrations of honey water has no significant effect on the female wasp rate of offspring. With the increase of the number of host eggs, the parasitism rate and eclosion rate increases first and then decreases. When the number of host eggs is 50,the female parasitic wasp rate of offspring reaches the highest of 86.82%.When the age of the host egg is 12 hours, the female parasitic wasp rate of offspring is the highest, but when the age of the host egg is 24 hours, the emergence rate is significantly higher than other treatment groups,at 92.74%.Conclusion:It is recommended that two 1-day-old parasitic wasps parasitize about 100 host eggs for 24 hours, and feed them with 15%honey water,in order to obtain a higher proportion of female parasitic wasp in the artificially expanded population of Telenomus remus. The research results provide technical support for the large-scale reproduction and application of Telenomus remus.
