Theoretical and Practical Models of Foreign Language Narrative Ability for Chinese University Students
Based on the objectives of foreign language education in universities,this paper proposes theoretical and practical models for cultivating university students'foreign language narrative abilities. The theoretical model,rooted in the stance of Chinese culture,encompasses four macro dimensions:language proficiency,understanding of Chinese civilization,narrative ability,and intercultural competence.This reflects the interweaving of language,culture,narrative,and intercultural aspects.The practical model integrates the teaching objectives,teaching steps,teaching activities,and teaching evaluation of foreign language narrative abilities through a four-ring structure comprising the"new era"logical framework,"small story"text structure,"Chinese style"discourse system,and"international standard"narrative techniques.
