Promoting the high-quality development of ideological and political theory courses in Open Universities is necessary for the popularization of Marxism,the fundamental task of moral education,and improving the quality of talent cultivation in Open Universities.Given the characteristics of ideological and political theory course teaching in Open Universities—large student scale,extensive educational system,strong teaching faculty,and abundant teaching resources—this paper proposes principles and practical paths for promoting high-quality development from four aspects:prioritizing education to stimulate students'intrinsic motivation for learning;adhering to a systematic approach to establish a coordinated mechanism;optimizing faculty by enhancing teacher training and development;and fostering collaborative education to create a synergy in curriculum-based moral education.
