The Connotation and Development Essence of Greater Food Approach
The greater food approach calls for taking the initiative in guaranteeing food security,taking sustainable development as the essential requirement,and employing multiple means to develop food resources in all respects and produce a rich variety of food items,so as to better meet the people's increasingly needs for a better life. Entering a new stage of development, with people's income continuously rising, the food consumption structure has been transformed and upgraded, which puts forward higher requirements for ensuring food security.However,China is currently facing a series of challenges,including the intensification of resource constraints,the prominent structural contradictions between supply and demand and quantity and quality,and the complex and changeable international environment.Ensuring China's food supply and keeping it firmly in our own hands may face a number of tests.Therefore,there is a necessary and urgent need for us to adopt an all-encompassing approach to food for the new era.On the basis of taking food security as the top priority,we should strengthen innovation in agricultural science and technology,promote talent training,and provide essential support for the comprehensive and multiple development of food resources.Meanwhile,it is necessary to adjust the structure of agricultural production,guide residents to modify their dietary structure, optimize agricultural support policies,and promote green and sustainable development of agriculture.
