A Study on the"Ox"in the Unearthed Pre-Qin Bamboo and Silk Documents
The agricultural materials recorded in the unearthed pre-Qin bamboo and silk documents are important references for the study of pre-Qin agriculture and related research,but have not received sufficient attention from the academia.Based on the archaeological discoveries and historical records,we comb through the pre-Qin bamboo and silk documents for recorded information on ox,and analyze the shapes,sounds,and meanings of difficult characters related to the appellation of ox,such as"tong""zhiniu"and"jing".Moreover,the social functions of ox are explained and summarized,in order to provide reference for research on pre-Qin bamboo and silk documents,pre-Qin agricultural history,and pre-Qin agricultural technology.
