Does the Farmland Confirmation Optimize the Farmer's Land Quality Maintenance?:Reexamination Based on Positive and Reverse Behavior of Apple Growers
Based on survey data of apple growers in the apple producing areas of the Loess Plateau, this study explores the impact of farmland confirmation on the positive and reverse behaviors of apple growers in maintaining land quality. The results show that the farmland confirmation effectively promotes investment in positive behavior of apple growers in maintaining farmland quality, which is mainly reflected in the positive behavior of a long period of investment return, and is mainly achieved through safety effects. However, the farmland confirmation does not encourage farmers to reduce investment in reverse behavior,on the contrary,it has a positive impact on the reverse behavior of pesticide investment. The tests done with PSM model, instrumental variable method, and alternative variable method still support this conclusion.Through further discussion we also find that the main reasons for the lack of reverse incentives in reverse behavior through farmland confirmation are farmers'loss aversion, risk avoidance, path dependence psychology, and lack of effective substitution behavior. It is necessary to promote effective substitution of alternative behavior for reverse behavior, improve the agricultural factor market, and optimize the effects of farmland confirmation on farmer's land quality maintenance behavior.
