The Integration of Culture and Tourism Driving Rural Revitalization:Intrinsic Mechanism and Empirical Test
In order to explore the impact and mechanism of cultural and tourism integration on rural revitalization,through the analysis of its internal mechanism,we construct an indicator system of cultural and tourism integration and rural revitalization,and then empirically test it on the basis of the panel data of 282 cities in China in the period of 2000-2019 by using the econometric model.The study finds that cultural and tourism integration significantly improves the level of rural revitalization,and this conclusion still holds under a series of robustness tests. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the effect of cultural and tourism integration on rural revitalization is more significant in the areas with high level of economic development,superior endowment of tourism resources,and the eastern coastal areas.Analysis of the impact mechanism shows that cultural and tourism integration promotes rural investment and improves the level of basic public services in rural areas,which then promotes the overall development of the countryside.Spatial spillover analysis shows that cultural and tourism integration not only promotes the development of villages in the region,but also drives the development of neighboring villages. The study not only clarifies the intrinsic mechanism of cultural and tourism integration in promoting rural revitalization,but also provides empirical references for promoting the high-quality development of cultural and tourism integration and rural revitalization.
