An Empirical Study on the Mechanism of the Impact of Internet Use on Migrant Workers'Returning Home for Entrepreneurship
Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),this study uses the ordered PROBIT model to empirically analyze the impact of internet use on migrant workers'returning to their hometowns to start their own businesses.The results show that internet use has a significant positive impact on migrant workers'returning home for entrepreneurship.Through heterogeneity analysis it is found that the effect of internet use on migrant workers with low education level is more obvious;Compared with the new generation of migrant workers,internet use has a more significant impact on the older generation.Moreover,the positive influence of internet use on male migrant workers returning home to start businesses is greater than that on female migrant workers.Further analysis of the impact mechanism reveals that internet use primarily promotes migrant workers'returning home for entrepreneurship by enhancing human capital accumulation.Therefore,it is crucial to continuously improve rural internet infrastructure and strive to create a fair entrepreneurial environment,so that migrant workers can better leverage the internet to enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities,thereby facilitating the success of their entrepreneurship and contributing to rural revitalization.
