A Study on the Influencing Factors and Configuration Paths of the Rural Governance Efficiency from the Perspective of Actor Network
Rural governance is not only an important part of the modernization of the national governance system, but also a key link in promoting rural revitalization. With the changes in rural social order, rural governance faces multiple challenges such as ambiguity in the authority of governance subjects, complexity in the governance contents, and rigidity in the governance methods.Based on the actor-network theory, this study uses the method of fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA)to analyze 32 typical cases of rural governance across the country, and explores the synergistic effects of governance mechanisms in the dimensions of"autonomous actors","elite actors","institutional empowerment","factor endowments"and"emotional feedback"on rural governance efficiency, revealing the complex interaction between human actors and non-human actors in rural governance. The study finds that the improvement of rural governance efficiency depends on the combination of multiple conditions, and then suggests three approaches to effective rural governance, which are self-driven approach,elite-led approach and resource-based approach.
