Advances in red turpentine bark beetle,Dendroctonus valens LeConte
The Red turpentine bark beetle, Dendroctonus valens LeConte, is an invading pest of pines in China. The paper summarized the progresses on its biology, adoption to the circumstance, epidemic mechanism and risk rating. Controlling approaches are proposed, especially use of inspection and quarantine of the pest, the pheromones and new biological control methods as forest management.
