Based on the investigation of native ornamental tree species in Hefei, there are 174 species of ornamental trees, including 72 species of native tree species, which account for 41.38% of the total tree species. This 72 species of native trees belong to 32 families, 58 genera, including six kinds of gymnosperms and 66 kinds of angiosperms which account for 8.33% and 91.67%, respectively. Based on the application status of native ornamental tree species, we propose that the urban greening could adhere to the principle of "mainly based on native trees, and supplemented with exotic species", vigorously adjust the application proportions of native species and exotic speciesin the future, to change Hefei into a national ecological garden city.
