Population Characteristics and Application Research of Styrax in Henan Province
Styrax in Henan Province were studied by field investigation and data analysis. Result showed that wild Styrax resources in Henan had 6 species, 4 species of which were endemic to China. They were all community companion species distributed in southern mountainous areas of Henan. Styrax had characteristics such as drought tolerance, cold tolerance and strong seed viability. It could be used as ornamental plant, medicinal plant and reserved tree species during secondary forest reform in mountainous regions. For the great exploitation and utilization values of Styrax, it was necessary to speed the correlative research up and combine protection and rational utilization together.
