Study on the Microfibril Angle in Four Species of Shrubs and Its Variability
[Objective] The research aimed to study the mierofibril angle in shrubs and its variability. [Method] The polarizing optical microscope method was used to analyze the microfibril angle of Salix psammophyila, Caragana microphylla, Tamarix ramosissima and Hippophae rhamnoides L, with the tree age of more than 3 a in inner mongolia area and the verification test was made by using iodine staining method. [ Result] The average microfibril angle in shrubs of S. psammophyila, C. microphylla, T. ramosissima and H. rhamnoides were 11.09° 8.08° 7.84°and 6.91°resp., which were smaller than that in hardwoods with the same tree age. The radial variation law of microfibril angle in the plant of T. ramosissima was that it was gradually decreased from pith to bark and the longitudinal variation law of microfibril angle in the plant of T. ramasissima was that it was gradually decreased from root to shoot. The mean, standard deviation and variation coefficient of microfibril angle all had obvious differences among different longitudinal parts including root, middle parts and shoot. [Conclusion] The research provided the theoretical basis for the development, utilization and the genetic improvement of shrubs.
