Salt Tolerance Capability of Tamarix chinensis and the Effects on the Improvement of Coastal Saline Soil
[ Objective] The research aimed to provide academic basis to improve and utilize the coastal saline soil by Tamarix chinensis. [Method] The potted and field experiment was carried out at Dongying Halophyte Garden. And the average height, basal diameter, branch number and mortality rate of Tamanx chinensis was delected after growed for 50 days. [Results] The capability of salt tolerance of Tamarix chinensis was around 25 g/kg and the utmost tolerance was around 35 g/kg. Planting Tamanx chinensis could reduce the salt content in topsoil effectively, and improve the content of soil organic matter, N, P and K.[ Conclusion] The research proved that Tamanx chinensis was a kind of plant with significant salt tolerance capability and it had remarkable effects on the improvement of coastal saline soil.
