Study on Leaf Epidermis Morphology of 3 Representative Species from 3 Genera in Araceae
The leaf epidemis morphology of 3 species from Zantedeschia, Alocasia and Monstera of Araceae were examined under light microscope and measured under micrography analyzer. The stomtal apparatus types of Araceae varied greatly, which were paracytic, cyclocytic and transitional type between paracytic and cyclocytic. Epidermal cells were different, anticlinal walls were straight and arched. Although the stomatal apparatus types in Araceae were of little taxonmical significance at infra-family level of Araceae, the combined characters of stomatal apparatus, the numbers of subsidiary cells might be useful for species identification.
