Preliminary Study on the Introduction and Adaptability of Medicago sativa L. in Zhanjiang Area
[Objective] The introduction and adaptability of Medicago saliva L. in Zhanjiang region were investigated. [Method] The comparative experiment in five Medicago sativa L. varieties introduced in Zhanjiang region was conducted and the germination rate, phenological period, over - summering rate, yield, the ratio of fresh to dry material weight and the ratio of the stem to leaf were analyzed. [Results ] The result indicated that the average germination rate of those varieties was 86% - 95%. The over-summering rate was 56.0% - 73. 3% and the variety - Sandeli had the highest value among all of varieties. The ratio of fresh to dry material weight was 22.36% - 25.64% and the ratio of the stem to leaf was 64.43% -67.38%; of both of which, the variety-Fute had the largest values among the varieties. The Medicago sativa L. variety-Fute yield was highest. [Conclusion] The variety-Fute and Sandeli had a strong adaptability and was suitable for planting in Zhanjiang region.
