Impact of Several Chemical Treatments on the Mergence of Horse Radish Tree
[Objective] The reference for the horse radish tree production was provided. [Method] The Indian traditional horse radish tree species, African horse radish tree species and India improved horse radish tree species--PKMI being taken as experimental material, the impact of several chemical treat. ments on the emergence rate of the horse radish tree species was observed after their seeds were treated with different chemicals. [Results] Among 3 species, the PKMI had the highest average germination rate; followed by traditional India species and the African species was the lowest one in germination rate. Several chemical treatments could produce better effect on germination rate of horse radish tree than the water and the significant efficiency was come from the treatment of the concentration of 1 % Root-strong Agent for 4 hours' seed-soaking or 5 g potassium dihydrogen phosphate added with 500 ml water for 4 hours' seed-soaking. The better efficiency of single application of the root-strong agent with concentration of 1 % or the Duojunling with the concentration of 1 % on the germination rate of horse radish tree than mixed-use of chemicals; and also, the mixed-use of Seventh Element and Israel Root Activity Agent was not better than the alone application in the promotion of the germination rate of horse radish tree because of the reduction of chemical efficiency. The treatment of 920 resulted in too many albino seedlings and thus 920 should not be used for seed treatment. [Conclusion] The scientific basis of the improvement of germination rate of horse radish tree and the cost-saving of seeds were provided.
