Study on the Allelopathy of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng.on Ten Species of Plants
[Objective]The aim of this study was to determine the effect of aqueous leaf extract from E.adenophorum Spreng. on seed germination and seedling growth of plants and lay the foundation for further exploration of the allelopathy mechanism of E. adenophorum. [Method]Taking 5 species of Brassicaceae plant seeds and 5 species of Gramineae plant seeds as test materials, allelochemicals were extracted from the leaves of E. adenophorum with distilled water. The effects of different concentration aqueous leaf extract from the leaves of E. adenophorum on the seed germination and seedlings growth of ten species were studied by using culture dish filter paper method. [Result]The aqueous leaf extracts from E.adenophorum had different influences on the germination rate and seedling growth of different tested plants to different extent . Among them, the allelopathy of Raphanus sativus L.,Brassica juncea,Triticum aestivum Linn.and Sorghum vulgare Pers were more sensitive. And Zea mays L. was the most insensitive. [Conclusion]The allelopathy of aqueous leaf extracts from E. adenophorum was confirmed and its effects on different species had greater difference. The research by using bioassay method could provide reference basis for investigating the relationship between allelopathy and invasiveness of E.adenophorum.
