Studies on the Anatomical Structure Characteristics and Drought Resistance of Broussonetia papyrifera
In order to study the relationship between the anatomical structure characteristics and drought resistance of B. papyrifera, the mi-crostructure of the leaves, stems, roots were observed by using paraffin section and optical microscopic section method. The results indicated that the leaves of B. papyrifera had flourishing epidermis hair, thicker cuticle, developed palisade tissue and dense vascular system. The more developed pith was found in the stem while a larger percentage of secondary xylem and developed vessels were observed in the root. In addition, there were crystal cells in roots, stems and leaves textures widely and lots of deep metabolites, which had a number of structural features.
