Research Development on Aquatic Ecological Regionalization both at Home and Abroad
The study on aquatic ecological regionalization has made considerable achievements during a half century' s development, and formed different types, index systems and research methods for different management targets. Based on former research, this paper summarized the concept of aquatic ecological regionalization and its development in China, USA and Europe. The index systems and the commonly used techniques such as biological assessment analysis and statistical techniques of typical aquatic ecoregions were analyzed in details. The problems existing in current research and the difficulties of applying the research achievements to aquatic environmental management were then recognized and analyzed to provide reference for future studies.
