Study on Cuttage Propagation of Megaskepasma erythrochlamys ,An Introduced Horticulture Plant
[Objective] The aim was to explore the rapid asexual reproduction method of Megaskepasma erythrochlamys.[Method] The cuttage propagation research of Megaskepasma erythrochlamys was conducted on by choosing different year-old cuttage grafting and different media.[Result] Megaskepasma erythrochlamys is capable of rooting from the stem cortex, and survival rate of the cuttings has certain related to degree of cuttage lignification. The lignified cuttings from one-year-old branches have the highest rate of survival,is 73% in pearl sand,87% in river sand,54% in vermiculite, respectively, and those from tender branches rank the lowest,is 25% in pearl sand,46%,in river sand 33% in vermiculite.Megaskepasma erythrochlamys presents certain selectivity to growing media, and the river sand is the best growing media for the cuttings.[Conclusion] The study lays a basis for future research on asexual reproduction of Megaskepasma erythrochlamys.
