Seasonal Dynamics of Litter Standing Crops in Pinus koraiensis Mixed Forest in Xiaoxinganling Mountains
[Objective] The research aimed to study dynamics of litter standing crop in virgin Pinus koraiensis mixed forest (Korean pine-spruce mixed forest and Korean pine broad-leaved mixed forest) in Xiaoxinganling Mountains.[Method] Direct harvesting and drying weighing of forest litter were adopted to conduct research.[Result] The total litter standing crops were 19.432 4-27.248 8 t/hm2 in Korean pine-spruce mixed forest,21.245 0-24.279 1 t/hm2 in Korean pine broad-leaved mixed forest, respectively. The total and three layers litter standing crops were highest in September, the lowest in July, and litter standing crops of humus layer were significantly higher than litter layer and fermentation layer in Korean pine-spruce mixed forest. In Korean pine broad-leaved mixed forest, the total and litter layer and fermentation layer of litter standing crops were highest in October, the lowest in July, the differences among each month of humus litter standing crops were not significant, except for October, the litter layer of humus litter standing crops were significantly higher than which in fermentation layer and humus layer each month.Highly significant correlations of litter standing crops were observed among litter layer, fermentation layer and humus layer in Korean pine-spruce mixed forest. In Korean pine broad-leaved mixed forest, correlations of litter standing crops were highly significant between litter layer and fermentation layer, while significant between litter layer and humus layer.[Conclusion] Seasonal dynamics of total and three layers of litter standing crops were mainly associated with community types in Xiaoxinganling Mountains.
