Abstract
Under high-concentration NaCl stress, high Na+ and Cl-concentrations in the soil lead to the change of osmotic pressure and ion poisoning in plant organism. Thus, plant metabolic abnormalities appear. In addition, salt stress also affects the absorption of plant Ca2+ , K+ and other mineral elements. To defense the toxic action of high salt concentration, excessive Na + is discharged outside the cells by membrane reverse transporters, and Na + is transported into the vacuole segregation. In this research,we reviewed the important roles of membrane reverse transporters in the Na+ and Cl-absorption and excretion, ion compartmentation, and plant salt resistance.
