Abstract
[ Objective] To research the structure and soil carbon reserves response of riparian zone landscape surrounding Beijing Wenyu Riv-er Basin, and to provide scientific basis for the reconversion of shore zone ecosystem. [ Method] With Changping section of Wenyu River in Beijing suburb as the research region, soil samples at 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm were collected from three vegetation types of natural veg-etation, seminatural vegetation and artificial vegetation. Vertical distribution characters of soil organic carbon were researched. [ Result] Or-ganic carbon densities at 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm soils was 1. 842 0, 1. 691 2 and 1. 460 2 kg/m2 , respectively. Soil organic carbon densities of natural vegetation at 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm were 2. 326 4, 2. 413 3 and 1. 377 4 kg/m2 , respectively. Soil organic car-bon densities of seminatural vegetation at 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm were 1. 673 6, 1. 545 1 and 1. 360 4 kg/m2 , respectively. Soil or-ganic carbon densities of artificial vegetation at 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm were 1. 751 5, 1. 430 6 and 1. 394 7 kg/m2 , respectively. [ Conclusion] Soil carbon content at 0-60 cm in riparian zone of Wenyu River Basin shows vertical change with the increase of soil depth. Carbon content in different soil layers from big to small is in the order of 0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm. Soil carbon content of different vege-tation types from big to small is in the order of natural vegetation, seminatural vegetation and artificial vegetation.
