Objective] To explore the effects of application amount of zinc fertilizer on the yield and plant traits of maize in black hill soil in Xinyi City, to provide scientific basis for large-scale scientific fertilization of corn.[ Method] Field plot comparative experiment was adopted to research the effects of application amount of zinc fertilizer on the yield and plant traits of maize.[ Result] Zinc fertilizer promoted the growth of maize.Maize after zinc fertilizer treatment showed significant increase in yield and plant traits, compared with the control.[ Conclusion] Maize yield firstly enhanced and then reduced as the zinc fertilizer increased.When the zinc sulfate was 15.00 kg/hm2 , yield increasing was the most significant, which enhanced by 1 074.0 kg/hm2 .And the increasing rate of yield reached 12.41%.
