Using various atmospheric sounding data, adopting kinetic and thermodynamic principles, a high temperature process in Jieyang City, Guangdong Province during July 23-28, 2008 was analyzed from aspects of circulation background, main influence system, physical quantity. The results showed that high temperature in summer in Guangdong Province appeared mainly caused by the westward extension of subtropical high, in this process of high temperature, temperature increase in the periphery of the typhoon had also played a major role.The longer duration of sunshine without significant precipitation was also the cause of the formation of high temperature.High temperature end in the typhoon "phoe-nix"peripheral circulation and precipitation of southwest monsoon.
