Land consolidation is an important means of raising the overall agriculture production capacity, optimizing the land resources struc-ture, improving the living conditions, and solving the building land problems.The Thirteenth Five-Year Plan of land resources puts forward new requirements.Based on re-examination of the purpose and task of land consolidation, three modes of land consolidation were put forward from the views of production, living, ecological multi-function, and promoting local economic development.These three modes were agricul-tural land consolidation mode, new countryside construction consolidation mode, and ecological consolidation mode.Land consolidation meas-ures were put forward according to the connotation of mode.
